I have lots of excuses...work, out of town, had to clean the house, etc...for not blogging for a month but non are great. I'm sorry!!!! Let me recap Otto's third month. He still smiled and laughed a lot. His laugh is a short little (an low) HA and some times a HA HA and other times a HMMMM. He also squealed and cooed. He began grasping everything and he learned how to take his pacifier out of his mouth and at times can put it back in. He also began to hold his feet in the air and do a bridge position. He began to role to one side with out much problem. He stands like crazy and Trevor and I bought him an "excersauser" from a second hand store that he can play in. He likes it but is still a little young to be really interested. He likes to look at the toys but doesn't really play with them yet and like the jolly jumper he has to be proped in with a blanket.
Aunt Stacy was in town at the beginning of the month to see Otto and help me with my work. We took him grocery shopping with us and had a quick trip to the Grove. Otto and I went to our first Baby's First Class and he was a super star!!!! I carried him up in his Bjorn and stood him up while I took it off and all the other mom's were amazed at how he was able to stand and how much neck control he had. His teacher is very nice and we sang songs and danced and gave little baby massages. It was a terrific class and I'm so excited for our next one. I had to miss two in a row because we went to Dublin and Salt Lake City. When Trevor and I went to Ireland mid month Grandma Deidra flew out to help Gram and Gramps (Marilee and Jack) watch Otto. We were gone for 6 full days and it was terrific but we missed Otto terribly. Skyping and the knowledge that Otto did not miss us in the slightest made our trip much easier! I really started to miss him on my way home and got soooo excited to see him that I talked my taxi driver's ear off about my son and soon the taxi driver had to come up and meet Otto. Gram, Grandma Deidra, Gramps, Uncle John, and the taxi driver were all present for Otto and my reunion and we all made such a comotion that Otto got scared and cried pretty much the rest of the night. He wouldn't smile unless he was in Grandma Deidra's arms and wanted nothing to do with nursing. I had to pump and bottle feed and was so nervous that I'd have to keep up the pumping and bottle feeding routine. Fortunately, nature took over and I was able to nurse him that night. And he's been fine in that department ever since. A few days after we got home we packed up again for Salt Lake City. This time Otto came with us and he couldn't have been a better traveling companion. Trevor and I both said it was the best flight we'd ever taken. He was all smiles and napped and nursed during take off and landing. We called it his "Otto-pilot" mode. We had a wonderful time in Salt Lake City. Grandma Deidra and Grandpa Ray threw me a few birthday parties with cake and ice cream and lots of people. It was great fun and everyone held and played with Otto. He smiled a ton but he stayed up a bit too late both nights and had some big crying spells. Other than those few cries we had a perfect week-lots of friends and family and wonderful dinners, beautiful hikes, a day trip to Park City and one snowy day where we stayed inside and hung by the fire. It was VERY hard to leave and Otto misses his Grandpa Ray and Grandma Deidra-as do Trevor and I! Here are a few pictures from our trip to SLC.
