A few of our favorite things

Trevor and I want to remember some of the fun things Otto does so we thought we'd list a few here.  He laughs hysterically when we bop him and anyone else on the head with a little balloon on a stick.  It's amazing.  We can always tell how excited he is by how far he sticks his hands in his mouth.  He sometimes gives us a little laugh while his pacifier is in his mouth and it sounds a bit like HEEEEGH.  He blows bubbles and makes raspberry noises with his mouth.  His yawns are very loud and almost sound like a fake put on yawn.  He likes to "push push push" with his legs while he is in the tub and it seems like he is going to push right through the end of the tub.  He likes to fall asleep in Trevor's arms by burying his face in a little pocket between Trevor's arm and chest.  We love our mornings with Otto-Trevor and I ask him about his dreams and he babbles the answers.  He is very talkative these days.  We like to play and make him sit and stand and swing him around in bed.  And even though it makes us sad Otto's sad face is adorable.  His bottom lip really does poke out.  But mostly we don't want to forget the way his face lights up when we walk into the room.

new adventures

We've had another busy week.  We went to see Dennis Hopper receive a star on Hollywood's walk of fame.  It was such a nice afternoon and Otto was in great spirits.  He met Dennis who has a German Shepherd also named Otto.  Then on Saturday Otto, Trevor, Gram and I went to see Aunt Mindy in her horse show in Temecula.  She was a rock star and did amazingly well in all 3 events and Otto LOVED meeting her for the first time.  We got home around 1:30 am and miraculously we woke up at 7:30am and headed out to the poppy reserve with the Deightons and ate a very hearty breakfast at CRAZY OTTO'S!  Trevor bought 5 t-shirts and the poppies were really lovely.  It was a great way to spend Otto's last week as a 4 month old.

new adventures

We've been busy!  Gram, Gramps, Otto and I went to the Reagan Library and spent the day learning about our 40th president.  The library houses an amazing collection of items from his life as well as the airforce one.  It was a wonderful day.  Later that week Aunt Stacy came for a visit.  The picture of Stac and Otto was taken in Palm Springs where we visited Aunt Maria and Sam in their new office.  The next photo is of Otto behind a tiki bar at Pottery Barn Kids in Pasadena.  He looks like he is getting ready to serve up some Mai Tai's for a happy crowd!  Next photo is of Gramps and Otto reading the paper.  Otto and Trevor and I go over to "7" every morning to hang out.  This is a very familiar scene.  Otto loves to sit on Grandpa's lap and read the funnies.  Finally-a picture of Otto in his new duck jammies from Gram.  He is almost too big for 3-6 month clothing so we went shopping for something a little more comfortable to sleep in.  At the rate he is growing he'll be out of these in a few weeks!

Trevor in Austin and Mario Batali

I'm a single parent again since Trevor left for Austin yesterday.  Gram is going to spend nights with Otto and I while Trevor is away so that helps keep us company.  Every Monday Wednesday and Friday this month she hops over next door to watch Otto while Trevor and I are at boot camp from 6am-7am!!!!  Otto doesn't even know she is in bed with him holding his hand but we know and it makes boot camp possible.  Uncle John, Trevor, Otto and I went to breakfast with Tara and Mason the other day at the Sunset Marquis.  We were star gazing at Mario Batali and low and behold he was star gazing at Otto (he also just happens to have a restaurant in NYC called OTTO!).  When Tony Abugan, a mixologist, who I've worked with sat down with Mario I decided to go chat with them.  We had a great reunion and instantly Mario told us he's been waiting to get his hands on Otto all morning!!!!!   I handed him over and he and Mario bonded instantly.  He told us that Otto could eat for free at Otto for the rest of his life!  HA.  Please notice Otto orange socks and Mario's signature Orange crocks...Otto's fashion statement did not go unnoticed by Mario.  Birds of a feather!!!!!!

4 month duck photo & growth report

Otto had his 4th month check up and everything was great.  He got a new round of vaccinations and I swear that boy is braver than Trevor and I put together.  He only cried for a split second and was happy and laughing soon afterward.

His stats:
Height-26.5 inches 93%,
Weight-15lbs 7oz 60%,
Head Circumference-42cm 42%.

His head has almost caught up with 50% of his peers.  He has made great strides from when he was 2 weeks at 32cm only 16%.  As Herr Poppa says, "What a guy!  What a little guy!"
